The Snake and the Wine Cup [Ancient Greece]

Medea was fifteen when she smashed the crown, tore her skirt, and fled for love without a second thought.

Medea was twenty when she poisoned her rival, killed her own child, and rode away in a dragon-drawn chariot, laughing and wailing.

Medea was twenty-three when she ascended to the throne as empress, only to lose everything, suffer public disgrace, and be cast out by Athens.

Medea was twenty-six when she became the most powerful woman in Colchis, smoke-red fingers and venom in her beautiful eyes.

Twenty-seven.

Medea met Dionysus.

Crack.

The sound of something breaking.

+A short story by the author. Some details of Greek mythology have been changed, so don't scrutinize it too closely.

I'm sorry. I made a mess of things while changing the outline, and the whole story fell apart. Updates may be slow for a while.
