▌Story blurb

XX transmigrated into a political and palace-intrigue novel she had complained about just the day before.

She became the incompetent, foolish, debauched background empress, and was bound to the Tyrant System.

The worst thing XX had ever done was lie and say the dog had torn up her homework. At worst, she'd get a beating.

But if she didn't complete the System's tasks, she'd get electrocuted.

Don't punish the officials at court? Zap.

Don't spend the disaster-relief funds on lavish construction projects? Zap.

See a handsome man on the road and don't snatch him up? Zap.

Don't go to the harem? Zap.

By the time XX dragged her electrocuted, numb legs toward the harem...

To the left was the gloomy, short-tempered enemy general taken prisoner after his defeat. Death.

To the right was the sickly, lovesick flower-devouring hostage prince sent over to surrender. Death.

Straight ahead was the newly appointed top scholar she had forcibly taken, who was also the last surviving heir of the previous dynasty. Death.

Behind her were two brothers who had deliberately entered the palace as spies, planning a rebellion. Death.

Every road leads to paradise. (Sorrow.)

Theme: Stay ambitious and make the most of adversity.
