The Five Times They Went Through Heat Together [Iron Man]

Blurb:

Captain America suggests thawing out his old partner's old partner.

Tony waves a hand grandly. "Leave it to me!"

He gets to work, and the Sentinel, frozen solid, starts to thaw. The Sentinel opens his eyes and lets out a furious roar. The intense mental assault sends Tony out of control, and a panther snarls in the cramped space.

By the time Captain America arrives, he finds that his old partner's old partner has a new partner.

Warnings:

1. Sentinel and Guide universe! Lots of alternate-universe lore!

2. Original female lead! Pairing: Tony Stark (MCU) x Senga Spendlove. Tony is an extreme Guide, and Senga is an extreme Sentinel. Senga's former partner was the Winter Soldier, but there was no romance between them. In fact, the Winter Soldier found Senga's mindscape too complicated and annoying.

3. Follows the plot of The Avengers, during a brief lull in the timeline.

4. Tony and Pepper have a familial relationship.

5. Some Sentinels and Guides experience periods of heat, but it is manageable and doesn't make them lose their senses. Maybe it's just like the irritability and restlessness women feel during that time of the month. (X What am I even saying? So this story will probably be pretty chaste.

6. I really tried not to write anyone out of character. I shouldn't have chosen Tony's point of view to tell this story. I'm really not good at capturing the subtle differences in how men and women think and speak. Sob, Tony doesn't feel like Tony anymore. It's all my fault.
