White Ground

During his first research expedition to the Arctic, expedition scientist Bai Liao rescued a dying polar bear cub and named him Dihe. This was a polar bear with the hottest name on Earth.

To watch Dihe grow up, Bai Liao stayed in the polar regions for a year. He taught Dihe how to search for food, hunt, store provisions, avoid adult male polar bears, and cope with the worsening polar environment.

Then he left Dihe and returned to human society.

Bai Liao never imagined he would be haunted by that desolate land of ice and snow. Yet every day he walked among the steel forests of crowded city streets, he missed his polar bear.

His journey north began once more.

Bai Liao gazed out across the boundless sea ice. Following a line of footprints that looked like hastily scribbled lines of poetry, he finally found his polar bear.
