Beauty by My Pillow

[The full story is complete! Some scenes and typos have been revised. Read the official version on Jinjiang.] Ruan Qingchuan was Su Shu's husband in her previous life. He cherished and spoiled her, and even as he lay dying, he made plans for her future. Only after his death did Su Shu finally understand how hard life could be and realize how sincere his love had been. Given the chance to be reborn, she returns to the year she and Ruan Qingchuan first met. Back then, she had looked down on him, finding him dull and frail, always sick... She had rejected his marriage proposal many times. When they meet again, Su Shu takes one look at Ruan Qingchuan and her eyes turn red. Without a change in expression, Ruan Qingchuan tightens his right hand at his side. "I know you don't think much of me, and I won't force you..." He had known it all along, yet he could not give up hope. But Su Shu's eyes brim with tears. "I'm the one who wants to insist." The thought of passing Ruan Qingchuan by in this life makes her forget everything else. She reaches for his sleeve, speaking in a panic. "Will you marry me?" Then she chokes out a promise: "I'll learn to be good and sensible and not cause you trouble... I've just learned how to brew tea and make pastries. From now on, I'll brew tea for you and make you pastries every day." She is terribly anxious, her eyes clear and sincere. Ruan Qingchuan's heart suddenly melts, and his voice turns hoarse. "I will marry you." He intends to cherish her once she is home with him. She need not be good and sensible, nor brew tea or make pastries. Reader's Guide: 1. This is a sweet, heartwarming everyday story. It is set roughly in the Ming era, but the setting is fictional, so please don't nitpick the history. 2. Before she was reborn, the male lead doted on the female lead. After she is reborn, she returns that affection. 3. The male lead is 23 and the female lead is 15 when they marry, after she has come of age. There is an eight-year age gap. If that's a dealbreaker, feel free to leave, and please don't message me about it. Theme: Love is mutual acceptance, understanding, and trust.
