The Cook Gets Married

A Plump Cook vs. A Handsome Scholar Mingyue transmigrates one day and becomes a fat, shameless farm girl. The family has been left with nothing by the original owner, who was so awful that everyone despised her. As a result, the newly arrived Mingyue is unwelcome too. To survive, Huang Mingyue puts her modern skills to use, making snacks and setting up a street stall, leading her whole family toward a better life. And all that busy work helps her lose weight, too. A poor scholar from the east end of the village happens to try her homemade lamb skewers and can’t stop praising them. He even comes back every day. When running a business, Huang Mingyue believes the customer is always right. But she won’t stand for anyone eating without paying. “Hey, Zhou Wenyi, I could let it slide if you didn’t pay once or twice. But you do this every single time. That’s not right.” Zhou Wenyi’s refined face turns red. He stammers for a long while before finally saying, “This humble scholar is poor and truly has no money. How about I offer myself in your place?” Reader’s guide: 1. The heroine runs her own snack shop. She’s fat at first, but gradually loses weight through hard work. 2.
