I’m not into irresistible protagonists, disposable background characters, competition for the heroine, weak-in-bed tops, groveling redemption arcs, dog training, bootlickers, or tailor-made content. Criticize the books, not the people.

Dealbreakers: love triangles where readers pick a love interest, hard-to-ship couples, and bad writing.

Great Reads, No Hardcore Shippers
TBR pile. I read widely, care about the plot, and am very attached to the protagonists. For romance, I like mutual devotion and couples who dote on each other, with both families being well-off. Mostly danmei; for straight romance, I only read stories where the male lead is a virgin. Danmei purity fans, check the content warnings.

Great Reads, Mostly Male Leads, With Some Male Receivers and Switches
Whether the protagonist is the pursuer or the one being pursued is just a matter of perspective to me. I can't stand universally adored protagonists, regret-and-redemption arcs, love rivals competing for the same person, one-sided crushes, or weak protagonists who are bad in bed. Otherwise, I read all kinds of things and have all sorts of kinks (emphasis).
