In his fourth year, someone else's graduation project ate his. With graduation approaching, he didn't want history to repeat itself. He swore to protect his graduation project with his life, and then he really did die. When he woke again, he had become a freshman at Sidi Military Academy. Knowing he would have to study another four years to graduate, he nearly passed out on the spot. Ten thousand years later, every plant on Earth has mutated. Food consists only of various artificially synthesized nutrient liquids, and after going so long without consuming plants, many people have fallen into a state of frenzy. To stop things from getting worse, countless people have tried to grow crops. But the ancient methods of cultivation have long since been lost, and decades of research have made no progress. For Tong Zhanyan, this is good news. The bad news is that his school only has a combat program. Not wanting to fail to graduate again, Tong Zhanyan resolutely takes up farming. Qing Jiyue is the sole heir of the Qing family, one of the four great guardian clans. He is the strongest fighter at Sidi Military Academy, a refined and aloof rising star, and someone everyone admires and envies. Yet Qing Jiyue knows his grandfather has already fallen into a deep frenzy. His father started showing symptoms years ago, and as the next head of the Qing family, he is destined to go berserk too. Then he gets a strange roommate. After watching Tong Zhanyan bring several drooping, wilted plants back to life, Qing Jiyue resolutely sends out his spirit beast, the only S-rank spirit beast in the entire Second Military District, a white tiger, to befriend Tong Zhanyan. Zhanyan is a cat lover, a serious one. For his sake, Qing Jiyue even teaches his spirit beast to meow. From the five sickly seedlings in his livestream at the beginning, to greenhouses filled with all kinds of vegetables, to a huge farm resort open to the whole world, and eventually a special program opened by the school just for Tong Zhanyan, the name Tong Zhanyan soon becomes famous across the entire Earth. Livestream 1: "You have to prune it, and prune it hard. If you don't prune it hard, it won't grow." As Tong Zhanyan speaks, snip, snip, he makes two cuts with his shears. Outside the livestream: "He, he, he..." "Get the heart medicine! Hurry, get Elder Xu's heart medicine!" "And Elder Wang's respirator!" Seeing the tomato plant they'd painstakingly raised until it was lush with leaves instantly reduced to a bare stalk, the Planting Alliance Research Headquarters descends into chaos. Livestream 2: "Five mu of land per person? That's practically a death sentence... How about we hold a raffle, and whoever wins can come here... and dig up the land for free?" Tong Zhanyan thinks he's being a little too fanciful. The next day, the global public network, which had not suffered a single slowdown in a thousand years, crashes from overload. Internet company: Emergency repairs in progress... ■ Coming soon: My Farming and Kiln-Burning Skills Made Me the Clan Chief [Beastmen] So good.jpg After transmigrating to a primitive beastman world, Du Nanshen is carried back to a tribe by a huge, lame tiger. In the tribe, females can transform into beasts. They are all strong and good at fighting, able to tear apart black bears with their bare hands. Males cannot transform and are weaker, so they make a living gathering fruits and vegetables. Since Du Nanshen can't transform, he is classified as a male. There are many females and few males in the tribe. Facing a crowd of females eyeing him hungrily, Du Nanshen, a straight as an arrow kind of man, has no choice but to guard against fires, thieves, and being pounced on. But he can't hunt, and he doesn't recognize any of the plants they gather... Realizing he'll starve to death if he doesn't marry, Du Nanshen has no choice but to fire up a kiln and start farming. The tribe is so primitive that they use fruit shells for bowls and pots. Their only staple food is roasted meat, and weapons are another problem. Du the swindler: Interested in ceramics? How about an iron wok? Iron tools? Every winter, the tribe's food runs short, and large numbers of frail beastmen and children starve to death. Du the hoarder looks at a cellar full of sweet potatoes, vegetables, cured meat, and cured fish, then lets out a satisfied burp. "There's just too much to eat. Could someone help me get rid of some?" Diseases run rampant in spring, and even the tribe's strongest beastmen succumb. Du the shaman: How about some antibiotics? After the crisis passes, Du Nanshen looks at the smiling clan chief, priest, and a group of guards in front of him, and can't help twitching at the corner of his mouth. Everyone: How about becoming clan chief? Looking at the females behind the crowd, their eyes gleaming hungrily, Du Nanshen says, "Sure, I guess." But before he has even settled into the clan chief's seat, the neighboring tribe comes crying to him: "Food, food, we're hungry!" Du Nanshen: "..." Du Nanshen: "Then let's merge the tribes." Another winter passes. Du Nanshen looks at the world outside the tribe slowly coming back to life, then turns to look at the great expanse of increasingly numerous green, gleaming eyes inside the tribe and sighs. It's better to stay busy, I suppose. Maybe I should go unify the eastern region too? ◇ Among all the females, the only one who doesn't look at Du Nanshen strangely is the lame tiger who brought him back to the tribe. So Du Nanshen always goes to him for help or good things, and they get along better than anyone else in the tribe. The other females in the tribe: "!!!" The lame tiger (quietly tucking away his little paws) (smiling): He'd never fall for me. ▉ Completed works in this series: My Wife Is the Enemy's General: Historical BL, soldier vs. general My Wife Is the Ghost-Faced General: Historical BL, little bookkeeper vs. great general My Wife Is the King of Kings: Historical BL, enemy emperor vs. emperor My Wife Is the Emperor on the Throne: Historical BL, chancellor vs. emperor ▉ My completed older BL stories, with the protagonist as the pursuer: see my author column My Archenemy Is Pregnant, and I'm the Father: Historical BL, I got my enemy pregnant The Villains Seem to Have All Been Scared by Me: Historical BL, pampered pursuer, farming, food, wish fulfillment After Mistakenly Thinking I Was Together with the Ill-Tempered Marshal: Long-form, passionate adventure What Should I Do If My Wife Is Poisonous and Dies When Touched?: Sweet little farming story Lots of completed stories in my author column.
