[Blurb] Life is hard, so I'm writing a sweet little story.

He was the illustrious Lord Xuanqing, a supreme deity from ancient times.

He once stood between heaven and earth, coolly watching the changing fortunes of the immortal realm.

Then the Feather Clan's immortal sovereign entrusted his child to him before going off to fight in the war between the gods.

He took the little phoenix and went into seclusion on Mount Kunlun, named her Qing Ling, and raised her with loving care.

Everything seemed perfectly fine, but can someone explain why Lord Xuanqing, an immortal of such poise and elegance, was incubating an egg on a sacred mountain?

Xuanqing: What do you like about me?

Qing Ling: Your every movement is graceful, and your features are like a painting. I adore them.

Xuanqing: ...How shallow. What if there were an immortal more graceful, with features even more beautiful?

Qing Ling: Impossible! And even if there were, I'd pretend not to see them!

Xuanqing smiled. "Excellent."
