The protagonist is bound to a System called [I Give to All, All Give to Me]. Completing tasks earns points. The task is to bind a target and offer them one kindhearted gesture of concern every day, watering a little sapling in the process. (No idea what the sapling will do when it grows up. My first guess is nothing.)
Day One.
The protagonist puts on a cool, cocky act and painstakingly treats the love interest well;
the love interest keeps a straight face throughout and goes to great lengths to treat the protagonist well.
Their concern for each other cancels out, and the protagonist earns no points.
Protagonist: "..."
Day Two.
The protagonist secretly treats the love interest well; the love interest secretly treats the protagonist well.
Their concern for each other cancels out, and the protagonist earns no points.
Protagonist: "..."
And so they end up frantically treating each other well, being considerate to an almost outrageous degree, while the onlookers say, "Here, have some dog food."
The protagonist breaks down: "You are not allowed to treat me too well! You can only accept my kindness! Even if you want to be nice to me, you can't be nicer to me than I am to you!"
The love interest hears these tongue-twisting words and interprets them as: I like you so much! I like you far more than you like me!
The love interest smiles dotingly, deeply moved.
The love interest's name might be Yu Ren.
The System could also be called [I Give to Renren, Renren Gives to Me].
