The Barbarian Husband Strikes

After being freed from slavery, Li Jiuxi had one greatest wish: open a little shop, marry a wife, and have a chubby, fair-skinned child. He would be content with that life. But dreams are lovely, while reality is far less so. By the worst luck, he ran into Sima Zhao, who had run away from home. From then on, he was ordered around and summoned at every turn. Li Jiuxi was terribly frustrated. He was no longer a servant, so why was he still doing a servant’s work?

With a toss of his handkerchief, Li Jiuxi finally worked up the nerve. He didn’t dare throw Sima Zhao out of his home, so he could only sneak away and find somewhere else to stay. But... why did the women who had agreed to meet him for matchmaking keep standing him up, one after another?
