I Was Tricked into Getting Married

Also known as The Scheming Big Bad Wolf's Diary of Winning His Wife and My Husband Was Possessed After We Married. A story about playing dumb to fool the clever.

One day, her friend Su Wenhang said, "An Yü, don't you hate your family pressuring you to get married? My family's been nagging me too. Why don't we go get a marriage certificate together, then each do our own thing?"

Zheng Anyu thought for three seconds, then agreed.

On their wedding night, Su Wenhang whispered something in her ear.

Zheng Anyu wanted to cry but had no tears: Big bro, that wasn't in the script!

Mini-scene 1

Before marriage:

At a class reunion, Zheng Anyu and her classmates played Truth or Dare. When it was her turn to answer truthfully, an old classmate asked curiously, "Did you and Su Wenhang ever date?"

Zheng Anyu thought the idea was ridiculous and burst out laughing. "How could I ever date him? He's one of my girlfriends!"

Su Wenhang seemed calm as he played with his phone nearby, but inside he was roaring: Girlfriend, my foot! Who wants to be your girlfriend!

After marriage:

At a class reunion, an old classmate teased Zheng Anyu: "Didn't you say you two never dated, that you were just girlfriends? How did you suddenly get married?"

Zheng Anyu had grievances she couldn't voice. She'd been tricked by a scheming big bad wolf. They'd agreed to a marriage of convenience, but then he went back on his word.

Mini-scene 2

Su Wenhang had always been a poor student, ranked near the bottom of his class, and needed top student Zheng Anyu to tutor him every day.

Zheng Anyu was about to lose it from tutoring Su Wenhang. She grabbed her hair and shouted, "Su Wenhang, you're so dumb! How are you ever going to get into college?"

But when the college entrance exam results came out, Su Wenhang scored one point higher than Zheng Anyu, and they both enrolled at a top university.

Zheng Anyu always thought Su Wenhang had gotten into a top university through sheer dumb luck. It wasn't until after she married him and visited his parents' home that she saw the piles of densely filled high school workbooks in his bedroom and realized he'd been playing dumb all along.

Many years later, someone asked Zheng Anyu what kind of man she liked.

She listed a whole string of qualities, then suddenly realized they were all Su Wenhang.
