Zhu Li's unrequited love is Zhou Langyue, who comes to the flower shop where he works every Wednesday and Saturday to buy roses. But Zhou Langyue's roses are never for him.

After nearly two years of secretly loving him, Zhu Li finally decides to confess to Zhou Langyue. But before he gets the chance, a global zombie outbreak erupts that very day. In just two months, billions of people around the world are killed by zombies.

After narrowly surviving, Zhu Li runs into Zhou Langyue again. Zhou Langyue still looks gentle-eyed and bright as the moon.

Two months later, Zhu Li and Zhou Langyue spend a night together. Afterward, Zhou Langyue confesses to him, and the two move in together.

But Zhu Li doesn't know that Zhou Langyue has been reborn. He knows even less that Zhou Langyue was reborn after shooting himself. Before Zhou Langyue killed himself, Zhu Li died on the operating table as a research subject.
