Blurb: In her previous life, in the mid-1950s, she was the eldest daughter of the Chen family in the city. Her parents had stable jobs and the family was well-off, but she had to do the housework, never got enough to eat, was constantly scolded, and was even forced to get engaged to a poor young man who collected trash. It wasn't until the daughter from the countryside was brought home that Chen Ran discovered she was the fake heiress. In 1957, Chen Ran was reborn. She returned to six months before the real and fake heiresses were switched. As her mother showered her with curses, she gritted her teeth and said, "I'll get engaged!" Why wouldn't she? The poor young man who collected trash back then would become someone important later. Leaving the Chen family behind, Chen Ran picked up her bundle, held her head high, and returned to Daying Commune. Back in the countryside, eating from the communal pot, Chen Ran began worrying about the famine two years later. Preparing in advance, she stored grain in the harvest years and reclaimed wasteland, helping Daying Commune safely weather the years of scarcity. As for the Chen family? Their faces were sallow and lined, while life as a fake heiress was far more comfortable than life as the real one. #I treated you like my real parents, but you used me as a scapegoat# Zhang Moli's daily life in the 1970s: I'm hungry.
