This novel won't be going premium. I'll lock it, rewrite it, then put it back up.
[Everyone, look at me: I'll write a little more, you take another look, and we can avoid the landmines.]
1. This is ancient black history. The writing is awful and the logic is a mess, but it was where I started, so I've decided to scrap it all and rewrite it. It won't go premium when it resumes.
2. The protagonist shou is no saint, and the protagonist gong has issues.
3. This is not a conventional romance. It's probably about two psychologically troubled people crashing into each other like meteors, finding a strange wavelength, and joining forces in their mutual mischief.
Blurb:
①
Wen Mo, a mature working adult, has the worst luck imaginable: he transmigrates into a melodramatic N||P danmei harem novel written by his little brother, who's a little shit.
After doing the math, he realizes he's a fully leveled-up gloomy cannon fodder, ranked after the gongs numbered one through N and destined to get beaten up.
Get beaten up → the protagonist shou's compassionate care, a light in the darkness → fall in love with him → get caught having a crush by one of the gongs → get picked on and beaten up
A perfect loop, until he kicks the bucket.
Would you look at that? In this ridiculous world where even a random passerby X the protagonist shou is a thing, he's just a bit player whose job is to let others step on him.
Wen Mo nudged his glasses and leaned back in his leather chair. “My mother tongue fails me. Go splash melodrama all over each other on your own. Don't drag a perfectly normal adult man into it, thanks.”
True to his word, the eldest Wen brother used every trick up his sleeve (not really) to successfully draw a clear line and steer around the landmines. He was just about to make it.
Then the protagonist shou, Wen Junlan, appeared. They shared a father but not a mother. He was delicate and soft, glowing with 24K holy light and sparkling, innocent eyes.
Plus the pure, sweet face of Wen Mo's little shit of a brother.
Wen Mo, the ultimate little-brother-con: “...”
From that moment on, the whole world changed its tune.
①
The school bully gong sets his sights on the little lamb and waits by the school gate to threaten and tempt him.
School Bully Gong: “Cry for me and I'll let you go.”
Protagonist Shou: “I-I... *sob* Brother...”
Wen Mo sprints three thousand meters to the scene, takes him down with a flying chokehold, and verbally crushes the rebellious edgelord. The school bully skips the crying and goes straight to lying motionless.
School Bully Gong: The sky sure is blue. My back sure hurts... Do I follow the script, or just start crying?
②
The CEO gong sets his sights on the good little boy and asks for his WeChat so they can flirt late at night.
[CEO Gong: Cutie, are you asleep?]
[Protagonist Shou's account forwards: "Shocking! The dangers of men staying up late and overindulging in sex" and "A hundred reasons men need to keep their lower halves in check"]
[CEO Gong: ?????]
[Protagonist Shou's account: I'm his brother. You're impure and up to no good. Don't disturb my little brother's precious time to rest and study. I've blocked you.]
[Message notification: You and this person are no longer friends.]
CEO Gong: Fuck!
③
The celebrity gong sets his sights on the innocent little flower and comes over to rehearse scenes and build a connection.
The door opens, and he comes face-to-face with the eldest Wen brother's two-hundred-and-seventy-three-degrees-below-zero expression.
Wen Mo: “You're here. Perfect. I'll play the villain, and you play the male lead. Let's rehearse.”
The celebrity gong, plain-looking but confident, proudly flipped his hair. “Sure.”
[Narration: The male lead couldn't help but quicken his pace. He could already sense that the murderer was somewhere in the darkness, following close behind. A chill crept over him. He turned around and, sure enough, saw, ]
The celebrity gong turned around according to the script.
At the entrance to a dark bathroom, Wen Mo revealed only half his body. He held a small knife, his eyes sinister, as if he were about to devour the celebrity and hang him from a tree for all to see.
Celebrity Gong QAQ: Save me! Save me!
Guarding his precious little brother, Wen Mo prowled like a vicious wolf. He glanced at the man beside him, dressed in a suit and handsome as jade: the story's refined scoundrel, an ultimate pervert.
Man: “Sorry to bother you. I'm not interested in your younger brother.”
Wen Mo: “Oh, a pleasure to meet you.”
Man: “I'm interested in you.”
Wen Mo: “...Sorry, I'm sick.”
Man: “What a coincidence. I happen to know how to cure you.”
Theme: Bad things happen all the time in this world. The best thing is being able to sit down and enjoy a good drink after sorting them out.
