I Think That Champion Is Flirting with Me

I fell for him at first sight. To hell with nationality!

But the truth wasn't that simple.

You have to understand his language and his regional culture.

P.S. I suddenly noticed that more people have been bookmarking and subscribing, probably because Yuzu retained the title. Whatever the reason, congratulations to Yuzu! And thanks to all of you who discovered my Shigure., Written in the early hours of January 18, 2018.

[Announcement]:

The author has no intention of pretending that what happened with the earlier chapters never happened. It's become a thorn in my heart. If you'd like to know what I think, you can read the long review under Chapter One, "About Unlocking the Author's Note." Feel free to keep criticizing, and feel free to offer suggestions, too. Readers who don't want to get caught up in all sorts of messy incidents and just want to enjoy the story in peace don't need to venture into the comments section. I won't respond or post my opinions in the comments anymore, either. Please don't treat the freedom of anonymous speech as a joke. Mind your words online, too. Thank you!

[I noticed this line while watching a drama: "Fighting with a pen is admirable, but verbal abuse is just as wicked." I hope every reader and author understands what it means.

[Things to know before reading]

1. The story is inspired by Yuzuru Hanyu. Since the characters are fictionalized, idealized versions of real people, it's more fun to write. Most of the time, though, I do incorporate Yuzuru Hanyu's personal traits, and I end up grinning like a lovesick fan as I write. Sometimes I even make myself suffer. (The author is a single dog.)

2. If you don't know who Yuzuru Hanyu is, just treat this as an ordinary novel. It has sweet moments and angst, bitterness and triumph.

3. A little introduction to the heroine: She graduated from an obscure major at a mediocre second-tier university. Whenever the time came to change majors, a large number of people in her class would disappear [because the major had no future and they transferred out]. She stubbornly stuck it out, worked for three years, and became a savvy old hand before going to Waseda for an MBA. Her practicality made her popular with her professors. Then she gradually got together with the hero, and in the end they lived happily ever after.
