He eventually revealed his true form, with a human body and a serpent’s tail, and nearly died giving birth to Jiubao. (Descendants of the ancient Nuwa can become pregnant regardless of gender.) Now, four years later: The protagonist transmigrates into a book and is reborn. (It’s the same soul, just in a different dimension.)
