Ramen Retired: NaruSaku

Naruto happily ate his meal, eating everything put in front of him without complaint, whether it was eggplant or green peppers. He chatted away with Sakura as they ate. She never had to mind her manners around Naruto. When she was happy, she would throw her mouth wide open and laugh; when she was angry, her face would turn dark as she gritted her teeth.

And that was the peace Naruto longed for.

It was simple and ordinary: sharing a home-cooked meal with the girl he liked. Even if the way she ate was a little unsightly, it gave him a taste of genuine comfort and security. The little lamp overhead cast a faint, yellow glow, its clear, wavering light sheltering them as if they were cut off from the chaotic world. They sat at the table, eating, drinking, chatting and laughing, and in the blink of an eye, it felt as though they could stay that way forever.

Sakura was the girl who made him feel warm and content. Would she be willing to share this peaceful life with him, cooking for him and eating with him, for a long, long time to come?
