Stories Set in a Specific Historical Era

Period stories I like, most of which I've finished.

Family Life and Everyday Living, with a Little Side Business

Romance, especially stories set in different eras, historical spin-offs, and historical romance. I like plots and romance in equal measure. I'm allergic to over-the-top Mary Sues, and I don't want harem favorites, anime-style, or pretentious literary fiction.

Smart, Proactive Heroines

Stories driven forward by the heroine's actions, told from her perspective. She makes full use of her own initiative. More romance-focused than career-focused, but not purely about her career, and not the traditional strong-female-lead type.

Period Fiction

Period novels I personally think are good. I like books that capture the lifestyle and atmosphere of their era, and at the very least don't pull me out of the story. Most of them lean toward wish-fulfillment.

Modern Era

Republican-era romance with supernatural elements. The ratings are totally random, since JJ won't let me give everything five stars.

A Mix of Transmigrate-Into-a-Book, Reborn, Modern, and Historical Stories

If we have the same taste, you’ll probably enjoy these.

My Favorite Great Reads (Sweet Stories Only)

I like stories about transmigrating, transmigrating into a book, and ancient times. I like good writing, and read both BL and BG. I'm an omnivore. It won't let me submit a five-star rating, but all the stories below get five stars (the System won't allow it).

Excellent Novels I Finished After 30 Years of Reading (BG)
