My Other Half Is a Guide

Su Fangmu is a sentinel who has returned from the front lines. Her mental energy is extremely unstable, and she is at risk of going berserk and losing her mind. She is currently confined to a recuperation tower for guidance. No guide is capable of doing the job. All they can do is offer Su Fangmu empty reassurances: today is better than yesterday, and she'll be well enough to leave the tower soon. Su Fangmu doesn't believe anyone can save her and pull her out of her irritable, oppressed state. Someone asked Su Fangmu what she liked. Su Fangmu: I don't like anyone, myself included. The recuperation tower tightened its supervision of her more and more, and Su Fangmu scoffed to herself. Until Su Wanye appeared. ★★ Su Wanye understood Su Fangmu's wavering and hesitation. No one knew herself better. She didn't want Su Fangmu to take the same path. Su Wanye led Su Fangmu along a flower-lined path, gathering sunlight in her hands and feeling the vitality of spring. Su Wanye accepted Su Fangmu's anguish, darkness, and damp gloom. She stood firmly by her side, understanding her silent, hysterical sobs and self-loathing in the dead of night. She knew how to effectively ease and manage Su Fangmu's negative emotions, and how to find the little wolf in her mental landscape, alone and licking its wounds. Su Wanye guided Su Fangmu again and again, saving her a thousand times over, encouraging her over and over to keep living, and patiently telling her that everything would get better and that she was safe here. Su Fangmu didn't believe she could return to a normal life. As spring drew to a close, with only a sliver of reason left, she said to Su Wanye, "If I go berserk, kill me." Su Fangmu couldn't bear to stain Su Wanye's hands with blood. "Anyone else can do it." Su Wanye: "You will live well." "Why do you believe in me so much?" Su Fangmu gave up on herself, while Su Wanye saved her a thousand times over. Their heartbeats resonated, and a secret place deep within their mental landscapes rang with the echo of their souls. "Why did you save me?" "Because you are the utopia of my dreams." We are two halves of one whole, and we will never abandon each other. ★★ When the alien beasts attacked, Su Fangmu and Su Wanye were on the war front. A single glance told each of them what the other had left unsaid, and together they fought their way out with astonishing coordination. I will always be loyal to my other half, and share in her glory. I have wrestled with myself for so long. I would rather be myself. ★★ A sentinel-guide story featuring a narcissistic romance. Many original settings. 2024.7.2 Theme: Saving yourself from the depths of despair, a thousand times over
