Sorry, I'm an NPC [Online Game]

Book Two will probably come out next year or the year after. It won't be too long, mwah! If you haven't started reading yet and you're concerned about any of this, please proceed with caution. By chance, Xiao Ran, an NPC, became a "player." To avoid being reported to the game company as a bug, he tried his best to pass himself off as a real player. From then on, he embarked on a path where he seamlessly switched between two roles, NPC and player, and strove to become a god Xiao Ran: "You can't beat that boss without the XXX skill." Player X was stunned. "How do you know I don't have the XXX skill?!" "..." Xiao Ran turned away and quietly shut off his NPC perspective. Player XX: "This sweet zongzi is so good!" Xiao Ran's stomach rumbled. [NPC Xiao Ran has received a quest letter from the System, "The Temptation of Sweet Zongzi." Please post it for nearby players as soon as possible.] "..." Xiao Ran turned away and quietly shut off his NPC quest system. Player XXX: "I've wanted to ask you about this for ages. You have to tell me today!" Xiao Ran turned away and quickly activated his NPC preset response. "That happened a long, long time ago. I actually had a tragic upbringing. Back then..." "...What the heck?" "That happened a long, long time ago. I actually had a tragic upbringing. Back then..." "Hey..." "That happened a long, long time ago. I actually had a tragic upbringing. Back then..." "Damn it! You're such a cheater!" ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~?~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~. Please read the warning list carefully Hazard checklist: 0. The blurb is a liar. This is not a cute online romance set in an online game. It's a traditional online game novel, the sort of level-up progression story usually aimed at male readers. 1. Because the protagonist has NPC traits, there is very, very little content set in the real world... 2. The game world encourages conflict and ruthless competition. It's a slow-burn leveling story, so proceed with caution if that's not your thing. [Please stop asking the author why your own game doesn't have this much scheming and infighting. _(:з"∠)_] 3. This full-dive online game focuses on adventure and treasure hunting, not team competition. [There are special dungeons, yes.] 4. One-on-one, doting romance, both leads' first relationship, happy ending, bottom's POV. The top is a total background character, and the couple gets very few sweet moments. Proceed with caution if that bothers you. 5. Lots of wish fulfillment, lots of dramatic twists, and an overpowered golden finger! [Important! The early setup is long, and the early story is oppressive, with no wish fulfillment, drama, or sweetness. There are terrible teammates and terrible rivals. The golden finger isn't very noticeable. Before leaving the beginner village, the protagonist will suffer once. It's a story of hardship before triumph, and the setup is everywhere. If you can't wait, you can skip it, but the big payoff is coming later. The golden finger starts showing its power after they enter the underground palace, so please be patient.] Xiao Zhenkong won't claim this is a technical, skill-based story, but I'm working hard to make it one. Mwah~ 6. The author's logic is dead. There are wild ideas and there are bugs. No nitpicking, and please don't compare rankings. So every day, he carefully cultivates his image as a "good emperor." Little does he know that it's all an act! The original owner was a violent, sinister tyrant with a deeply calculating mind. He often pretended to be ill or foolish to lure powerful ministers into seizing power, then struck back. So when he "lost his memory again," everyone's first reaction was: Damn, His Majesty's putting on an act again! The people around him all play along and compete with him in acting! The sadistic, scheming top is one of them. The chancellor, the top, has an irreconcilable grudge against the original owner. On the surface, the two seem to get along well, but who knows how many times they've clashed in private? The scheming top assumes the protagonist is "pretending to have amnesia" to get at him, so he pretends to fall for it and plays along. Not only does he fool the sweet and naive protagonist completely, he also toys with his feelings, telling him they used to be lovers. But the top gets carried away and ends up losing control of the game (insert forced smile). After the protagonist turns the tables on him, the sadistic top tries to regain control by gradually taking the protagonist's political power and imprisoning him, spending his days and nights discussing matters of state in the imperial study, holding the Son of Heaven hostage to command the feudal lords... Recurring dream, check; Scheming top, check; Imprisonment play, check; He thinks everyone adores him, but in reality everyone wants to overthrow him, check.
