Cupid’s Arrow Through Time

With nothing but a mysterious beam of light, she arrives in this unfamiliar place; with nothing but a slight flutter of her heartstrings, she adjusts to this unfamiliar world; with nothing but Cupid's playful mischief, she falls in love with this unfamiliar nemesis. A single scolding from him makes her sad and brings her to tears; his absent-mindedness leaves her disappointed and downcast; and his little acts of care make her feel happy and content. But the one he loves is still not her, no matter how hard she tries. All he gives her is beauty like a rainbow. But that is not what she hopes for, even though she has known all along that she does not belong in this unfamiliar place. Still, she keeps hoping, relying only on the determination in his eyes. Perhaps one day, when Cupid mischievously transmigrates here, he will say, “Cupid exists among the stars.”
