The Princess Consort, If She Loved Her (GL)

In the tenth year of Qinghe, all was at peace across the realm, but the capital was rife with turmoil. Ji Fenghuai, a veteran statesman who had served two dynasties and held immense power as chancellor, fell from grace overnight, and his clan was struck by disaster. His only legitimate granddaughter, Ji Yunyao, hurried to Prince Chun's residence in the middle of the night to ask for help, only to be kept there on a pretext. And so she became Princess Chun.

Prince Chun: Don't refuse a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit. I have no obligation to protect you. If it weren't for your grandfather, you know what would become of you.

Ji Yunyao: My heart was never here. Why insist on keeping me, Your Highness?

Prince Chun: Now that you've taken the title of my princess, how can you just leave whenever you please?

Ji Yunyao: You've taken away my freedom. What else do you want?

Prince Chun: What I want is the heart you refuse to give me.

Important Notes: 1. This story will be going premium on December 4 (next Thursday). Please show it your support! Reposting in any form is not allowed. Those who pirate it, please show some decency!

2. The story will have plenty of twists and turns, so proceed with caution. But it's definitely one-on-one, and I've heard it even has a happy ending.

3. This story is set in a fictional world. Readers who care about historical accuracy, please be lenient.

4. There's a minor bug in the story: I sometimes write the chancellor's name as Ji Fenghuai and sometimes as Ji Huaifeng. The author is confused and can't revise the whole story, so please consider Ji Fenghuai the correct version. Muah!

5. Gentle, coy, subtle, heartfelt requests for updates are welcome. (Whips, hot wax, death glares, and the like, please all retreat, sob.)
