When they first met, Shen Hance was a smooth, gleaming white egg with no owner, while Lu Qingyan was a round, chubby little bird.
Nothing would have come of it, except that one dark and stormy night, the impoverished little bird Yan was so broke and lightheaded that he mistook the unclaimed egg for a luminous pearl. He grunted as he carried it home, hoping to exchange it for some money.
He never got any money. Instead, the egg hatched into a little menace.

Lu Qingyan: "Shut up! Go stand in the corner and think about what you've done!"
