Demon Tang

This story is set in an alternate world! A pure mystery wuxia tale, with no transmigration, no rebirth, no pocket dimensions, no supernatural powers...

In the third year of the Wuding era of the Great Jin Dynasty, the southern tribes pledged allegiance, the Northern Lie submitted, and the land enjoyed favorable weather and abundant harvests.

The disciples of the Tang Clan obey their sect's commandments:

Men shall not enter the court, women shall not enter the harem. Live and die by the jianghu, rid the people of harm, and serve the nation with loyalty.

Chapter One: Strange Clouds over the East Sea

On the night of Jingzhe, the county magistrate of Donghai was struck by thunder and fire. His entire family perished, leaving behind only an orphan girl, who traveled a thousand miles to mourn them.

On the night the dead returned, seven ominous words appeared in a line on the ashes. The wronged spirit would not rest...

Chapter Two: Mysteries in the Palace Selection

The emperor, barely twenty years old, decides to obey his ministers' demands and choose beauties for the palace.

A beauty's golden hairpin goes missing, only to be found in the hair of a palace maid who has been dead for two days...

Tang Yiyi, the eleventh child of the Tang Clan and a royal secret guard, disguises herself and enters the palace.

Tang Yiyi: As a country girl, I have a pretty good eye for beauty.

The Empress Dowager: Is Lady Tang Xiuyi dressing up as a demon to frighten an old woman like me?

The Emperor: Linglong, why does Eleven look so good in everything she wears?

Yu Linglong: It must be because she's your junior sister.
