A story about Descartes and Pascal in the history of Western philosophy and science.
Descartes is a worldly philosopher, but also an unmarried father. After losing his beloved daughter, he tries to escape through academic research.
Pascal is a misanthropic cynic, but also a victim of his family background. He seeks refuge in religion.
Two lonely souls meet in the afterlife: will they continue their disputes from when they were alive? Have a poignant conversation between two unhappy people? Or form an astonishing family bond?
The long-abandoned ether theory eventually gives them the answer.
Theme:
Oh my god hhh I really want to know what Descartes's expression is (he fainted from laughing)
Wow, this climatex description is so good! It's inexplicably romantic to express it in academic language!
Finally, give a thumbs up to Descartes who is lying in bed 233333
"Due to height issues, he was being held by Fermat to ensure he could see clearly ahead." Hahahahahahahahahahahaha poor Pascal
But I have to call Fermat! ! !
I was so touched at the end, what a great birthday gift XD
"Torricelli objected to this. He thought that placing it by the window would cause the temperature to change too much." Hahahahahahahahaha I don't know why I laughed so hard when I saw this 233333 Torricelli is so cute! I mentioned him when I was doing experiments back then.
Great! I am studying Spinoza
The author's setting is very interesting, come on!
PS: Descartes's essay on the passion of the soul was translated by my teacher~
Are you doing history of science?
Hello, author, I have read all of your series of articles, and I like "Ether Wings" the most. I read it twice in a row, so I will write my review here. The reason why I like your series is mainly because of the following points: first, I like historical themes and real-life fans; second, the idea of materializing the memoirs is very clever; finally, the writing is beautiful and the plot is attractive. Historical fan fiction has always been my love. I suffer from the lack of real-life fan fiction and the low quality. Finding your work really made my eyes light up. And the novel world view of "memoir materialization" is exactly what I want. The world of knowledge after death makes many impossibles (such as the CP of Voltaire and Rousseau, haha) become possible. Many of the dialogues you wrote are very philosophical. Frankly speaking, there are some parts that I couldn't understand the first time, but I will read them several times until I understand them, so as to be worthy of the author who took so much trouble to write those words. As for why I like "Aether Wings" the most? Maybe it's because I think the ending of the extra episode is very touching. In fact, the ending of "The Burning Sky" gave me a similar feeling. From this you can probably tell what my interest is, the cute single arrow, haha! (Ps, in my opinion, blood contract is a form of contract that is more inclined to a single arrow. I don't know if you think so. All in all, I like this series of novels very much. I am very much looking forward to more new works from you. If so, please inform me by private message and I will be your loyal reader:) Finally, if you are willing, Mr. Luo Xi, please exchange links with me. I really hope you can read my works and give me some pointers. Www
Give 2333 thumbs up to Lai Bed Di after reading what the author has to say. When I go back and watch the conversation between these two, I will roll with laughter. . .
The vulgar stories in The Author Has Something to Say finally made me understand this article. . . Maybe it's because I'm so sleepy now after getting used to taking naps. . .
By the way, "Principles" was published in 1687 (point out the time bug
