I made myself a new cover for fun...
We often do strange things for the people we love deeply.
We lie to them, and we lie for them.
Life may be full of bumps and setbacks,
but we always want everything to be perfect for them,
like bearing the heaviest burden,
yet also the sweetest burden in the world. - Modern Family
Has anyone ever used his name
to burn a mark into your heart?
Snape ended his painful life. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself back in a turbulent era: when Harry Potter was in his fifth year.
After the holidays, Harry felt that Snape was treating him differently, as if... he were much easier to get along with.
Snape watched a little brat who came up only to his waist grow taller and taller, like a sapling sprouting branches and reaching for the sky. He watched him for seven years. But the boy was no longer the little thing who used to wrap his arms around Snape's waist and cling to him, as if he would never grow up. He... had grown up, just like... the young man Snape had once seen in the Mirror of Erised, smiling at him from beyond the hedge.
"What's wrong? I don't see the problem. People are bound to die in a war. It wouldn't be strange if I did."
"You will die... but not like this!"
Would he accept fate and follow his original path to the end, or fight back?
"Professor... why is your Patronus a stag?"
"Get a grip, Harry Potter! Stop being so weak! Are we really going to entrust the future of the Wizarding World to a bastard who does nothing but run away?!"
#About This Story#
1. Not a paid novel. Unless something unexpected happens, it will be complete at 200,000 words. Every 100 comments and favorites will earn an extra update.
2. Snape/Harry, firmly one-on-one. Harry won't keep chasing after him anymore.
3. Mostly follows the original. Dumbledore isn't vilified, and Voldemort isn't whitewashed. The professor is a little tender-hearted. (At least, that's how I see it.)
4. The story contains quotes from the original Harry Potter books. (They're marked in parentheses.)
5. A serious story. Given my writing habits, I doubt anyone will believe me if I say it's a happy ending. (shrugs)
6. After it's complete, a three-volume collected edition will be available, with a 10,000-word happy-ending extra chapter.
#A Note from the Author#
I want to apologize to everyone. The story won't be updated for a while. I have the general plot in my head, but I just can't figure out how to connect everything...
So I'm going to work on an original danmei novel first... Sorry again!
A long story about a professor and a reborn Harry, whose Animagus form is a cat... A heartwarming life together? Well, not that heartwarming... This was my first Harry Potter fanfic, so the ideas are a little old-fashioned. Personally, I think the story drags a bit... But I'm very relieved that I didn't leave it unfinished!!!!!
One-line summary: The author wrote the first part at sixteen, then the next two at seventeen and eighteen. (What am I even trying to say...)
A short story set after the war, about Harry suffering brain damage from a spell and gradually recovering his memories... It's basically just Snape and Harry together.
A medium-length story about Snape becoming Harry's mentor before he goes to Hogwarts.
P.S. "The Lamp" is the prequel to this story, and "Migratory Birds" is the sequel.
There is an unavoidable continuity bug between Heartbrand and Migratory Birds. This foolish author is trying to figure out how to fix it...
Some things from "The Lamp" continue into this story. The gist is that Snape raised Harry and developed feelings for him. But really... you'd... better... go... read it...

The theme song for this story~~(≧▽≦)/~
Absolutely impossible! ! ! If it weren't for your forgetfulness, you would be the most important one to him!
Please don't torture my Snape anymore, let Harry warm him [explosive crying]
Danmei and pure love have similar meanings.
Damn, don't you want to go down any more?
Is the young master still here... Wuwuwu, he won't really abandon us, will he? QAQ
I guess today's update is for this. . . It's really hard to describe how I feel. In fact, I don't watch movies very often, but I still feel lost.
Oh. . . Most of the rest of the comment was swallowed. . .
It seems to be a problem with this emoji - -
When the kiss comes, let them go. . . Professor, you are too ungrateful, right?
It has retracted into its shell again. . . [Both the bat and the snake king don't have shells, okay? ! !
It is said that small letters cannot be placed in customization. . . [The inability to describe Dafa is really not invented just to make up the number of words. . .
Cha La said I was a bastard and refused to give points. System and Tongjun are too smart, right?
I can really express my opinion on this. I have really thought about this issue deeply. It is probably related to psychology. If you are only attracted by the character at the beginning, most people will gradually rise to like the actor. One reason is because compared to the abstraction of the character, the reality of the actor himself attracts us more, including some of his dynamics that will make us mistakenly transfer our emotions to the character to the actor. The second point is because compared to the character, the actor's own personality may be more in line with our perfect imagination of the character. This is probably because the emotions between the character and the actor are so confusing that they cannot be distinguished.
