The endless night stretches on. Only the roar of the sea holds everything in its sway. You cannot help trembling. Suddenly, a faint light appears in the distance. Perhaps it is only a lighthouse to guide the way, but at once you will regain your courage. You will have the courage to fight the terror that comes with the night, and at least you will not sail in the wrong direction.
And what if, in the distance, a string of lights shines like jewels in a woman's hair, and the land where the lights are burning lies just ahead? On that land is the warmth of a home you have missed.
Ba Jin, "The Lamp"
This passage wasn't written by Ba Jin at all! I searched for ages, and I'm not even sure whether the author is Feng Zhi. I've been fooled by Chinese reading-comprehension tests for ten years! (Revised 2021.7.14)
When you lose your way in your youth,
someone must appear to lead you to a sunlit wilderness.
One winter break, Snape appeared in Harry's life early. They ate together and slept together (ugh).
And so, for the first time, someone appeared in little Harry's life. In that cold, blustery London, the person pushed him toward the fireplace and raised him on milk, as if he were a cat or some other little animal. He strode along with a whirlwind at his heels, yet spoke to him in a soft, light voice.
Well... it's hard to describe. It was like a lighthouse in the dark. He knew it was far away, but stubbornly felt a ridiculous warmth deep inside.
"I'll never forget that snowy day, under the tree at the end of Privet Drive. You looked down at me and said, 'From now until you turn eleven, I will be your tutor, Harry.'"
Snape/Harry, firmly committed to a one-on-one pairing.
Not locked, not abandoned.
[Busy with my first year of college!!! I'll do my best to update weekly! Sorry...]
A long story about the professor and a reborn Harry whose Animagus form is a cat... an adorable life together? Well, not that adorable... Since this was my first Harry Potter work, the ideas are a little old, and I personally think the story drags a bit... But I'm relieved it has an ending!!!!!
A short story, in a way a sequel to the sequel of this one... After the war, Harry's mind is damaged by a spell, and his memories gradually return... It's a story focused on Snape and Harry.
The sequel to "The Lamp" and prequel to "Migratory Birds": after Snape dies, he is reborn in Harry's fifth year.

P.S. I've always wondered why Harry, after such an unhappy childhood, would grow up to be a sunny, cheerful boy instead of a red-eyed monster like Tom. It makes no sense, so someone has to come save him! (Well...)
P.P.S. Dumbledore-bashing and Voldemort-whitewashing are both off the table (mainly because Voldemort has nothing to do with the story, and Dumbledore is just a bit player... not to mention the other three houses...)
Theme:
It was so sad, I had a sour feeling that lingered after watching it. Various tender scenes are interspersed with knives from the future. Maybe this is not destined to be a HE story. Severus was the first person to be so kind to Harry, and Harry was his first ray of light after Lily. After forgetting everything, all this might be just a big dream for Harry, but for Severus, he could only guard one memory alone and watch Harry from a distance. So sad. Finally, we still don't know what was written on the birthday card Severus sent to Harry that summer.
Ah (jaw dropped) Can this be done? Well, maybe this is just a simple kiss.
Poor little Harry, that's why it took someone to redeem him, and that someone had to be Severus.
I came here to read this after watching Migratory Birds. When I first started reading it, I felt like crying again when Harry said he would wait until tomorrow.
Harry has been looking forward to "tomorrow" so much, and he has been fighting for it, but he and the professor are destined to have no tomorrow.
Well, how can I put it? Although it may be written for non-OOC, it is fiction after all. It would not be a bad idea if there is a better ending. To be honest, I am still looking forward to the gradual change in Harry's relationship with the professor after he enrolls and the professor's preference for him. Just thinking about it makes me very excited, so I feel very sorry for this ending.
🥹😭😭😭This is love, but this ending [crying] [crying] [crying]
Muggle power is no different than magic
Oh no! ! ! Don't
The second book after The Grandfather Paradox once again made me want to cry.
Damn, this action suddenly made my mind drift back to my freshman year in high school. I suddenly wanted to go back. Huh~ I can go back to that year with the current memories. I can take advantage of what I missed before and enjoy that year with a more stable mind.
