The Nonexistent Prism [Preview Edition]

Blurb:

Zhao Meiqin's twin sister, Zhao Meijing, was placed under house arrest at home after a mission went wrong. At the end of her trial, she left Meiqin a mysterious text: "The key is the seven-sided prism."

While Meiqin was watching over Meijing from a hotel across the street, two "milk deliverymen" came to see her. Ling Zhi and Ling Yu, two young agents from the university's Night Punishment Squad, explained to Meiqin what had led to Meijing's predicament and hoped she would work with them to solve the mystery. Just as Meiqin made up her mind to help Ling Zhi, her sister's fiance, rescue Meijing, a ruthless sniper outside the window shot Ling Zhi. At the critical moment, Ling Yu, the Night Punishment Squad leader, painfully abandoned his teammate Ling Zhi and rescued Meiqin from high above.

After a series of events, Ling Yu no longer trusted Meiqin's reasons for joining the Night Punishment Squad. She was acting out of selfish motives, not for the sake of justice, so he decided to revoke her Night Punishment Division credentials.
