[Empresses in the Palace] A Lifetime of Peace

I ask for neither wealth nor glory, only a lifetime of peace.

--That's not realistic

Xuan Ling asked Hua Shilan, "What's most important to you?"

Shilan answered solemnly, "My life."

Xuan Ling clarified, "Something tangible."

Shilan continued solemnly, "Food."

Xuan Ling held his forehead. "A person."

Shilan suddenly understood. She rushed over, wrapped her arms around Xuan Ling's slender waist, and said with great seriousness, "Our son~~~~"

The female lead of this story is Murong Shilan. It follows the novel, though I might get some details wrong and accidentally mix in things from the TV adaptation.

I'm writing fanfiction based on the novel because I couldn't stand that older man in the TV series. You know what I mean. Xuan Ling is supposed to be a handsome man, right~~

I have some complaints about the Empress, An Lingrong, and Zhen Huan, but none about Consort Hua. That poor girl was deceived so terribly. Her character profile says she's ruthless, but I disagree. In the harem, if someone tells you, "You slapped my left cheek, so go ahead and slap my right one too," then they've clearly lost their mind.

So I made Hua the female lead.

Also, let me pay tribute to the great Liu Lianzi. I'm just a nobody, and my writing is nowhere near as good as hers. Please don't compare us, dear readers. I know I can't measure up.

P.S. This follows a fake-lighthearted path~~~ At its core, it's the story of a young woman pretending to be cheerful, kind, cute, and all the rest as she overcomes every obstacle to reach the top. The female lead has no moral compass and no limits. Readers, bring your lightning rods~~

The blurb and all that is just for fun. It has no bearing on historical accuracy, okay, dear~

Here's the original blurb, posted here for everyone to see.

[Blurb]:

On her last night at her family home before entering the palace, Miss Murong met a female ghost.

The ghost spent the whole night telling her a story.

And so, Miss Murong was enlightened.
