The Fifth Wastepaper Basket

Mu Liao often wondered if perhaps everything was already predestined. Everyone was heading in one direction, some faster and some slower. Even if you were unwilling, even if you were reluctant, there was nothing you could do about it. It was like planting a lotus seed: it would never grow into a durian. It was simply a certainty.

"I don't want to die. I just don't want to die. Is that really wrong?"

"But everyone dies."

So when Mu Liao said this to Liu Yan, he gave her a baffled look, studied her from head to toe for a long while, then said, "Haven't you been dead for years? How did you manage to burn your brain out?"

Mu Liao kicked him.

PS: Everyone who said Dong can't write historical romance, step forward!!!

Haha, this is the first time I've put such serious effort into writing a historical romance. I'm taking it very, very seriously. I'll be updating this story alongside Tuanzi's, and neither one will be dropped. I know some of you are worried that starting another story will make things too hectic and stop me from writing Tuanzi, but that's not the case. When I work only on Tuanzi and hit writer's block, it can be a real headache. Working on two stories might actually help.

If you think this story sounds good, please add it to your collection.
