(Naruto) A Girl's No Good If She's Not Scheming

"I just wanted to live a carefree life as a ninja, earn a little money, marry a woman who was neither beautiful nor ugly, and have two kids. The first would be a girl, and the second, well, a boy. Once they were grown up, my daughter was married, and my son could stand on his own, I'd retire from being a ninja. Then I'd spend every day living a quiet, secluded life, playing shogi or Go, and die of old age before my wife. That's the kind of life I wanted..." Asuma once said of Shikamaru that his exceptional analytical ability let him consider a hundred possibilities in an instant, and that he had the intuition to pick the best one. As for his personality, he was so lazy he'd reached the level of Daoist inaction and stillness. Even a guy as smart as him had people he feared. The first troublesome woman who scared him was his mom, a problem he had no choice in. The second was his childhood friend, Ino Yamanaka. In keeping with the Nara men's reputation for having no say at home, he had no choice there either. He used to think his mom was the scariest woman in the world and tease his dad for being henpecked. But after growing up with Ino, he realized just how "kind" his mom had been to his dad. But one day, the thought of Ino, the scheming girl who had tormented him since childhood, usually gave him a headache. This time, he confessed seriously, earnestly, and solemnly: "You're a pain, but if it's you, Ino, I guess it's fine. You've been bossing me around for years anyway. When I get home, Dad's going to tease me about it." And with that, he declared Ino his woman. The story of a genius who hates a fuss and a scheming girl who have been childhood friends in a way that simply has to be told.
