In Search of a Soul

Crack Version: Salazar yanks the baby out from beneath the Death Station: "You brainless kid, you actually cut yourself into so many pieces! Go back and find all those fragments, then sew yourself back together before you come see me again!" Then he kicks little V nineteen years into the future, straight into young Albus's body, and into Scorpius Malfoy's dorm room. Under the resentful gaze of the pearl-white original hovering above his head, the two of them each have their own agenda as they embark on a bout of fake smiles and empty talk, along with some owl post between the living and the dead (a huge exaggeration)… (TR: Little Severus, what are you complaining about? I'm just doing the grunt work! Aren't you the one who gets to reap all the benefits in the end?) Normal Version: Nineteen years later, Lord Voldemort has returned. Carrying Salazar Slytherin's hopes and the name of his lifelong rival and most trusted traitor, he walks into the same Slytherin dorm room as Scorpius Malfoy, under the loving gazes of his savior father and his pure-blood-traitor mother. Oh, and a ghost is floating behind him: the real Albus Severus Potter... This isn't about being reborn, but about a temporary return. Tom Riddle, who has given up on "escaping death" and his ambition to rule the world, now only wants to find the soul he lost and continue living happily, forever, with the people who love him. But in an era that seems peaceful on the surface while turbulent currents swirl beneath, can Tom's wish for a simple life, one that doesn't suit the Dark Lord at all, come true? Reader's Guide: 1. Little Albus doesn't die before he even appears. He'll return to his own body, so don't worry~ 2. Happy ending. The process of GS includes mutual love and hate, so be warned. It's very different from The Prequel and The Soldier, so prepare yourselves. 3. Main pairing undecided. Side pairings include GS and Scorpius/Albus, with no designated top or bottom, plus several possible couples, several, several more... (The author cries out to the heavens like a cat: Ambiguity rules!) Purchase note: This story is included in the half-price monthly subscription library. The full story costs 224 points at half price.
