City of Shadows (Bakura / Yami Bakura, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters)

[Side Bakura]

White sand swept him into a vortex where time ran backward. Three thousand two hundred days and nights turned back.

I will rule this world sooner or later.

I can give you a hand.

The long sleep of time had dulled his memories, but it could not extinguish the evil god's surging ambition. Those eyes watched him, sharp and blood-red, almost black. Bakura gave him a casual shrug and stepped to his side, like someone leaving the bright light of day behind with a single step into the deep darkness of night.

[Side Yugi]

The last remaining fragment was gently pushed into place, filling the only gap.

My wish is to meet someone who won't betray me.

If that is what you wish for, then I will make it come true.

The board was set, and each side's pieces had long since been placed on the table. Gods and spirits, dark alchemy and sacrificed souls, hidden hearts and forgotten names, a conquest left unfinished three thousand years ago and the curtain rising once more on war three thousand years later.

"The game begins."

All right, let's see how many people this pseudo-literary blurb scares away.

Simply put, it's a fun story about Yami and Dark Bakura happily squabbling with each other (?).

On a whim, for my own amusement, I decided to have the Host transmigrate back in time and rewrite the entire story of DM. The plot will definitely be turned upside down, and the characters will probably be out of character. Read with caution.

Duels are rare. Cards with anime effects may appear from time to time, but there should be no custom cards. Duels that follow official OCG rules won't appear until the story reaches the Battle City arc.
