Bone-Eroding Plum Blossom

Winter, 2006. Heavy snow at a logging camp in the northern suburbs of Lancheng.

Cheng Zehai is led to the execution ground. Twenty-seven years old, he is the youngest bank president in Lancheng.

A gunshot rings out. Birds take flight in alarm. A black flag falls onto the snow.

Behind a tree in the distance, a woman watches from afar, holding a swaddled baby. Beside her stands a middle-aged man holding an umbrella: Meng Shumin and Zhai Qingshan. The baby is Cheng Yu. Zhai Qingshan holds the umbrella as he looks at Meng Shumin's profile, his eyes full of words he will never speak in this lifetime.

How will the sins and tangled loves of the previous generation tear open a soul-deep wound in two unprepared young men? Love is not salvation. It is an obsession that drags two people into the mire together and still refuses to let go.

Two boys cursed by the previous generation meet at the age when they should never have crossed paths. One wraps his fear in arrogance; the other wraps his brokenness in ice. They warm each other, and they wound each other in turn.

Theme: Two boys cursed by the previous generation meet at the age when they should never have crossed paths. One wraps his fear in arrogance; the other wraps his brokenness in ice. They warm each other, and they wound each other in turn. Five years later, Zhai Ziyu is no longer the hotheaded young man who only knew how to use force. He has learned to weave a net with business rules, legal clauses, and personal connections, one that Cheng Yu cannot escape. He intends to keep him by his side, even if that means imprisoning him. And Cheng Yu is no longer the high school student who only knew how to give the silent treatment. He has come back with a knife. When the truth finally comes to light, they do not immediately reunite. Two wounded people must learn how to love each other well. Zhai Ziyu must give up control, and Cheng Yu must learn to trust. The sins of the previous generation finally bloom into a pure flower in theirs.
