I Found a Precious Treasure

Qin Yi, a 58-year-old woman entrepreneur in the furniture industry, built her business from scratch and owns multiple properties in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Suzhou. She has a successful career, but lacks a partner with whom she can weather life’s storms. After repeated disappointments with in-person matchmaking and online dating, she is nearly ready to give up when she meets Chen Wang, a retired Chinese teacher, online. A kindred bond with no regard for wealth quietly grows amid the gulf between their social classes, their children’s doubts, and the trials of reality. No matter how grand the house, nothing compares to having one person beside you who understands the thoughts you’ve carried for half your life.

Theme: Wealth cannot fill the void of loneliness. In old age, what we need most is not someone to depend on, but a kindred spirit who understands our innermost thoughts and can weather life’s storms alongside us. Love knows no class or age. What truly matters isn’t material wealth, but being understood on a spiritual level.
