When Yu Wanzhang was three, her parents died in the line of duty. Because of their friendship with Yu's parents, Zhou Heping and his wife took her into their home and raised her alongside their ten-year-old son, Zhou Wangshu.

The couple held senior positions and were often away for ten days or half a month at a time. Zhou Wangshu took care of everything for Yu Wanzhang, from food, clothing, and shelter to teaching her how to write and study. He left nothing to anyone else.

Zhou Wangshu lowered his head. In the light, Yu Wanzhang looked almost unbearably beautiful. His throat tightened, and he stopped hiding his desire. He said plainly, "Break up with him and be with me!"

Yu Wanzhang's lips curved into a smile. She knew it: Zhou Wangshu couldn't help loving her!
