(The complete story is already written, so it won't be abandoned.)
Little vampire Shen Miao hates one person more than anyone else in this life: the old Daoist priest Chu Qinghe.
That old priest cursed the Shen family to be "poor for generations," so Shen Miao is so broke he can't even afford a cheap takeout meal.
There's one person he loves more than anyone else in this life: his husband, Chu Xu.
Handsome, rich, and, most importantly, completely henpecked. Every day, every meal, he shoves Australian lobster and abalone right in Shen Miao's face.
Shen Miao solemnly declares, "My stomach's not great. I need to live off my husband for the rest of my life."
But the good times don't last. Pollutants arrive, supernatural abilities awaken, and human society collapses overnight.
The two husbands, who failed to awaken abilities, are thrown out and dumped in Pollution Zone Nine.
Looking at their devastated "new home," Shen Miao cries so hard he can barely catch his breath. "Honey, poverty is in my fate. I've dragged you down with me."
Chu Xu is silent for a while, then brings a bowl of duck blood vermicelli soup from the ruined kitchen. "Eat first."
Shen Miao's tears mix with the noodles as he eats what feels like his last meal.
The next day, spicy stir-fried pork blood. The third day, spicy pork blood stew. The fourth day, pork blood and tofu casserole... A month later, Shen Miao is curled up on a sofa salvaged from a garbage heap, eating a little strawberry cake, when he suddenly shivers.
Wait, the apocalypse has been going on for a month. How does their fridge still have pork blood and fresh strawberries?
Shen Miao narrows his eyes at Chu Xu, who is cutting vegetables like a dutiful housewife in the kitchen. His voice turns ominous. "Honey, are you... hiding something from me?"
Chu Xu's hand trembles. The cleaver nearly chops off one of his fingers.
...That Chu Qinghe, whom Shen Miao hates so much his teeth ache, is his great-great-great...grandfather.
And the spatial jade pendant Chu Qinghe left behind contains a vast farm and a pool of spirit spring water.
Chu Xu's legs wobble. He clutches the pendant in his pocket. "No! Absolutely not! Mianmian, are you hungry? Shall I make you another bowl of noodles?"
Shen Miao stares at him for three seconds, then reveals a pair of gleaming white fangs.
"Sure, you want me to eat what's down there?"
"Then tell me first: where did our flour come from?"
