Hating the Sunrise

Straightforward, silly sunshine girl x dark, sickly, jealous husband

Zhao Xique likes Fu Qingxue. Even though he always avoids her, she figures he must like her too. He's just shy and embarrassed to admit it.

But that's okay. The girls on her grasslands are bold and openhearted, so she can make the first move.

Later, she learns that everyone in the capital knows Fu Qingxue doesn't like her. She's the only one who doesn't.

Fu Qingxue hates Zhao Xique. He hated her from the first moment he saw her.

He has been frail and sickly since childhood, and can't stand people who make such a racket.

He hates her kisses, and hates himself even more for not pulling away.

He hates her engagement to his fifth brother, and hates seeing them chase and play together. Most of all, he hates himself for lying awake night after night.

He hates her tears, and hates how each one falls into his heart.

He hates her.

He hates how she makes being alive feel so unbearably hard.

He hates how the warmth she gives him only makes him feel colder.

She left.

He should be happy, should celebrate, should... should...

That chattering little magpie has flown away. She should never come back.

One morning, the third young master of the Fu family, usually as elegant as an orchid and a jade tree, arrived on the grasslands in a wretched state. Zhao Xique nearly failed to recognize him.

Her brothers stood in front of her. "My sister is already promised to someone. Unless you're willing to be a concubine."

She was promised to someone. What did that have to do with him? Be a concubine? He didn't even like her. He might not agree to marry her as his principal wife, either.

The next day, before dawn, he knocked on the tent of Zhao's eldest brother and lowered his head. "All right."

There is no concubinage. The heroine's brothers were teasing the male lead.
