First Love

Xu Lan is the daughter of the Miao family's housekeeper. When her mother fell ill and passed away, the Miao family took her in out of affection for her mother and supported her education.

To Miao Chengyuan, the eldest son of the Miao family, the girl who had always lived in his home belonged to him. He was sure they would fall in love and get married someday. Unfortunately, she was always so cool toward him.

As soon as the college entrance exams were over, he immediately decided to repeat the year. He had to be in the same grade as Xu Lan so he could keep an eye on her.

Watching Xu Lan get higher scores with every exam, Miao Chengyuan grew restless. It was obvious she was trying to slip out of his grasp.

He sold his motorcycle, game console, and ski gear, hired several tutors, and studied day and night. At last he narrowed the gap between their scores. Then he wore her down with endless pleading and persistence until she agreed to stay and attend college locally.

On the last night to submit college applications, while Xu Lan was asleep, Miao Chengyuan secretly logged into her account... Damn! This woman was messing with him again. She'd applied to a place that far away!

He stayed up all night and changed his own applications to match Xu Lan's.

A childhood friend tried to warn him: "Chengyuan, with your score, the only thing you can study at that school is nursing."

Miao Chengyuan didn't care. "What? Men can't be angels in white?"

On the day college started, the sun blazed overhead and the campus was packed with people. The roar of a horn came from afar, ripping through the clouds.

Xu Lan glanced back, saw who was on the motorcycle, and turned to walk away.

Miao Chengyuan revved the engine, skidded the bike in a sharp drift, and stopped just in front of her. "Xu Lan, your man is here!"

Xu Lan gritted her teeth. "Miao Chengyuan, you know what? You're just a rich punk with dyed hair."

Miao Chengyuan took off his sunglasses. The freshly permed curls on his head bounced as he exclaimed happily, "Holy crap! Xu Lan, you called me rich!"
