After Becoming Classmates with My Stuffy Archrival

To secure her place in the Fu family, Fu Wenzheng has been forced to disguise herself as a boy for more than a decade. She's cautious and careful, and never dares to cause trouble.

There's only one person she wants to get rid of as soon as possible: Shen Lanpei!

He's a distant relative of the Fu family, the most conventional person around, and loves meddling in other people's business.

She climbs over the wall, and he blocks the gate. She skips school, and he reports her. She drinks at a brothel, and he flips the table.

He tells her father on her every other day. Of the ten punishments she's received, six are thanks to him.

The day they enter the academy together, she spends the whole night sharpening her knife.

Shen Lanpei comes from a renowned family. Rules are his bones, and propriety is his blood.

He despises the uneducated and hates debauchery.

Fu Wenzheng is both.

He only means well. As her elder brother, he ought to keep a closer eye on her. But she has no appreciation for it and only grows more unruly.

Now that they're entering the academy together, he is determined to make this young wastrel understand

what rules are, what the righteous path is, and what it means to be a gentleman.

Until the night they go on an outing.

The moon is bright, and the mountain pool is clear as a mirror. He glances over without thinking and sees a reflection of a figure with her clothes half undone, her curves startlingly clear.

Shen Lanpei is struck as if by lightning and hurriedly turns his face away.

But that image is burned into his eyes, and he can never forget it.

Mini-scene:

Shen Lanpei suffers through his days and nights. Every time he closes his eyes, he sees the scene beneath the moonlight.

One day, he finally finds an opportunity to corner her in her room. He struggles to speak. "Wenzheng, I know now... you're not a man."

Fu Wenzheng's expression changes. She pins him into the bedding and warns him fiercely, "You rotten old fossil, if you dare tell anyone, I'll take you down with me!"

He lets her hold him down without struggling, quietly looking at the embroidery on the quilt. His voice is as soft as a thread:

"Wenzheng, your quilt... has a faint scent of gardenias."

Fu Wenzheng stiffens and swears angrily, "You disgusting lecher! I'll strangle you!"
