A Wife

My friend died a horrible death.

His wife became my wife.

On the day I exchanged rings with her, I saw a deathly pale face in the banquet hall.

It was my friend, the one who'd been smashed to pulp by a semitruck.

I gave him a comforting look.

Don't worry, brother.

With me around, our girl won't have to be a widow.

3. Everyone's awful, and there's not a normal person in sight. Not recommended for readers with low tolerance for dark content or high moral standards for characters.
