Ye Zhiran opened and closed his eyes, and found himself transported to ancient times.
With no identity or household registration, he was soon discovered, reported, and hauled off to the authorities.
Ye Zhiran: "...Help."
He thought he was going to die there, but then someone appeared, claimed to be his husband, and got him out of jail.
Ye Zhiran was nervous.
The newcomer wore plain robes and had a strikingly beautiful face. He was also holding the hand of a child around ten years old.
"Wait... have you got the wrong person?"
Ye Zhiran scratched his head. He knew exactly where he had come from, so there was no way he could be connected to this man.
But the man in front of him looked deeply aggrieved, as though Ye Zhiran were some scumbag who had abandoned his husband and child.
The child beside him even started to cry.
Under the pressure of it all, Ye Zhiran went with them.
Then he learned that the man's name was Yan Yunsheng. He ran a bookshop and had raised the child, Yan Chi, all by himself.
Ye Zhiran thought, So he's had a hard life, too.
And so the three of them began sharing a home.
Strange things happened from time to time, but Ye Zhiran thought life was pretty good.
Until one day, he transmigrated again, this time to ten years in the past.
Yan Yunsheng was only fifteen then, and was the current emperor's third prince.
Ye Zhiran: What the heck? Wasn't he just an ordinary, unremarkable bookseller?
Back home, Ye Zhiran stared at Yan Yunsheng without a word.
The other man calmly put some food in his bowl. "What's wrong? Is the food not to your liking?"

Ye Zhiran decided to run away.
He had no idea why the other man had approached him, but something about it made his skin crawl.
He packed his things and took his travel permit in advance.
He had barely reached the city gate when he was surrounded. Yan Yunsheng emerged, his expression dark. "I gave you your chance."
Yan Chi, too, had shed his usual well-behaved, tearful demeanor. His expression was indifferent. "Father."
At the sight of them, Ye Zhiran felt even more confused.
This... definitely didn't seem right.
Then, before everyone's eyes, Ye Zhiran transmigrated to ten years in the past again.
*The title and blurb are pending revision.
*This isn't a story of coercive possession; it's more about healing, with travel back and forth between two timelines.
*I haven't decided whether the child is biological or adopted, so this might be a story with childbirth. I'll decide when I start writing.
