Xu Xingwan recently started following a cooking blogger.
Why call him a "cooking blogger" instead of a "food blogger," you ask?

Maybe she'd watched too many polished videos from food bloggers showing off their late-night snacks. Xu Xingwan had to admit that the occasional video of a hopeless cook nearly burning down his kitchen was kind of entertaining.

But the blogger replied with a heartbroken emoji that made it seem like she'd genuinely wounded him.

Ji Chi was hopeless in the kitchen, completely clueless about cooking. He usually got his meals at restaurants or ordered delivery.
He'd always thought he would never set foot in a kitchen, until one day he happened to hear that his crush, Xu Xingwan, liked men with eight-pack abs who could cook.
The abs were no problem, Ji Chi thought. He already worked out regularly.
But cooking...?
It sounded daunting, but when he got home that day, Ji Chi gritted his teeth and added learning to cook to his to-do list.

For a moment, Ji Chi felt his breath catch and his heart break so badly he could hardly breathe.
