Gu Yunran has a boyfriend named Shen Mubai.
On their first anniversary, she received a plush toy from Shen Mubai, who was away on a business trip.
It was a half-meter-tall doll that looked a little like a puppy.
She happily told her boyfriend she had received the puppy he sent her, only for him to insist, quite seriously:
It's a wolf.

As a plushie enthusiast, Gu Yunran loved the doll Shen Mubai had sent her.
Aside from how soft and cuddly it felt, she especially liked its deep blue eyes.
They always seemed to sparkle, and reminded her of Shen Mubai's eyes when he looked at her.
The day after receiving the doll, Gu Yunran learned from Shen Mubai that it came with a voice call function.
Unlike ordinary voice calls, though, the doll's calls worked regardless of network coverage.
Thanks to this novel feature of the little wolf plush, Gu Yunran had recently started talking with Shen Mubai before bed each night.
But strangely, whenever she stroked the doll's tail during a call, Shen Mubai's voice would start to stutter.
At first, Gu Yunran thought it was just a normal glitch in an electronic device.
Until one time, when she accidentally sat on the doll's tail, Shen Mubai suddenly let out a sharp hiss, and his words came out with a tremble.
Gu Yunran found his reaction odd, but when she asked what was wrong, he came up with all sorts of clumsy excuses.

That was how things went until Shen Mubai returned from his business trip.
The day Gu Yunran unexpectedly discovered that her boyfriend seemed to share sensations with the little wolf plush, she looked at his face as it suddenly flushed red, then mischievously gave the doll's tail a couple of hard strokes.
The very next second, she heard Shen Mubai let out a muffled groan, the corners of his eyes turning faintly red.
Wondering at Shen Mubai's reaction, Gu Yunran tilted her head to look, only to find a fluffy tail that had suddenly appeared behind her boyfriend.
Gu Yunran: ...?!

On the 379th day of her relationship with Shen Mubai, Gu Yunran learned a few things from her boyfriend:
1. He really wasn't human. He was a half-beast with silver wolf blood.
2. The little wolf plush she loved was made from the wolf fur he'd collected himself.
3. The reason the doll could share sensations with him was that he'd made it that way on purpose.
4. He had fallen in love with her at first sight, years ago, when he was still a clumsy little wolf who didn't know how to hide his animal ears.

Before You Read:
1. The setting is highly fantastical and idealized. I write whatever comes to mind, with absolutely no concern for rigor. If you're the type to nitpick, feel free to leave now.
2. The story starts online and later moves to real life. The male lead controls the doll's sensory link, so he can choose to connect its sight, touch, hearing, and other senses, either selectively or all at once. Personally, though, I consider this half a pure-love trope. The male lead does respect the female lead's privacy, for the most part. (Lights cigarette.)
3. A slice-of-life story with very little plot, focused mostly on the two leads. Memories will be interspersed throughout. It's a light, fluffy romance for when you want to switch your brain off.
