Jiang Zhouyu x Jiang Chenlang
The thing Jiang Zhouyu regrets most in his life is that, when he was ten, he foolishly listened to a joke from a relative and abandoned his little brother.
"Look, ever since your little brother was born, your parents haven't paid any attention to you. When the time comes, everything in the Jiang family will probably go straight to him, and there'll be nothing left for you. If you don't find a way to win their favor now, in a few years there might not even be a place for you in this family. You'll become a poor, unloved little thing."
It was just a deliberately mocking remark, but Jiang Zhouyu took it to heart.
He watched Jiang Chenlang, surrounded by everyone and treated like the center of the universe. He thought about how he had come first in his exams, yet his parents still hadn't kept their promise to buy him the same toy Jiang Chenlang had.
Meanwhile, Jiang Chenlang could do nothing right and still effortlessly got everyone's attention, and everything he wanted.
Those words kept replaying in Jiang Zhouyu's mind. Every night, he woke from nightmares.
He believed them, and thought that if Jiang Chenlang were gone, everything would get better.
But afterward, Jiang Chenlang's young face appeared in his dreams every night, like a nightmare he could never escape.
Then, when Jiang Zhouyu was twenty-six, Jiang Chenlang came home.
That was when the real nightmare began.

Jiang Chenlang thinks Jiang Zhouyu is such a contradiction. He says he hates him and can't stand him, yet never resists when Jiang Chenlang pushes his boundaries again and again.
He can tell Jiang Zhouyu is trying to atone for abandoning him.
But this isn't how you atone, big brother.
When Jiang Chenlang first came home, Jiang Zhouyu deliberately went on business trips all the time to avoid him. Later, Jiang Zhouyu began coming home early, always watching him from the corner of his eye.
Jiang Zhouyu seems to have turned into a watchdog, forever waiting for his master's command, wanting to sit at his feet, yet still pretending to be aloof.
It's really quite amusing, isn't it?
