[Western Crossover] The Daily Battle of Wits with a Teenage CEO

[Third-person narration]

I fell in love with a boy at first sight.

To be precise, I fell in love with him at first sight a year after we met.

His athletic build, the smooth lines of his muscles, and his words, so confident they bordered on arrogance, came together in that moment like a pink arrow striking me.

I confessed right then and there, and quickly got myself a boyfriend.

My boyfriend was great, but for some reason, after we started dating, I never felt my heart race like that again.

I wanted to break up. But over dinner, as Mom cut her steak with a little knife that gleamed coldly, she scoffed at a tabloid story and said, "That's what you get for playing with someone's feelings. Serves them right."

"..."

I swallowed the words I wanted to say about breaking up.

I wasn't scared. I'd simply realized that a sense of responsibility was a wonderful quality every human being should have. I was going to be a responsible, good woman.

Tim: I was the one who agreed to this. Why am I not the one who's dating him?

Tim: Why?!

Reader's guide:

1. The author's skills are limited. OOC warning!

2. The whole story is about romance, with lots of everyday slice-of-life scenes (emphasis added). No dark scheming.
