[Synopsis]
One day, the System suddenly binds itself to Geto. He thinks he's about to become the protagonist and charge headlong into the tides of the times.
Thinking back to how he's been able to see monsters since childhood, how he was born extraordinary, Geto imagines the thrilling adventure that must lie ahead of him.
But when he eagerly asks the System what he's supposed to do, he freezes.
"Fall in love?!"
["That's right. I'm a romance System, so of course you have to fall in love."]
"I refuse! Romance isn't part of my life goals!"
["Don't be like that. Romance may not be trendy anymore, but saving the world is. Actually, my full name is Romance Saves the World. Heehee~"]
Geto still refuses.
This System obviously isn't serious, and what the heck does romance saving the world even mean? If the world can be saved just by falling in love, then it doesn't deserve to exist.
Then the System forcibly shows the thoroughly rejecting Geto a vision of a future Japan overrun by monsters (curses), with countless dead and injured.
After a painful period of reflection, Geto agrees through gritted teeth, his face green.
["Hehe, I knew my Host would agree. You're so kind, Suguru. Otherwise, I wouldn't have chosen you~ Ahem, let's begin. You're the one, conquest target, "]
The conquest target is so good-looking, and the information Geto receives only includes childhood photos. He doesn't realize the target is a boy and assumes the person is a girl. So when he finally meets him in person, Geto falls apart.
"Aaaaah! Why are you a guy?!"
Gojo looks baffled. "What the hell are you talking about? If I'm not a guy, what am I, a girl?"
*
After fighting a male classmate and deciding he's actually pretty decent, Gojo receives an anonymous confession letter the next day.
Since he only has two classmates, one boy and one girl, and the girl is visibly uninterested in him, it must be from the boy. The boy is a little strange: he asked whether Gojo was called WTW, and whether he had a sister, cousin, or relative with the same name. When Gojo said no, the boy looked as if he were about to die.
Could it be...
Gojo solemnly turns down the boy's confession.
The boy: "Okay, sure."
Huh? Why is the boy so calm? Is that how someone who's just been rejected is supposed to act?
The next day, Gojo receives another confession letter. "?"
Much later, Teacher Gojo realizes he's been treated like an NPC to be repeatedly farmed for points, and laughs in disbelief.
