How Did the Landlord Become a God?

[Blurb] Xie Juanchi was a landlord who owned an entire building, and his tenants were strange. The woman living alone in 401 always wore a mask, and foul-smelling, bloody water seeped out from under her door. The man in 402 called himself a "premium ingredient supplier" and kept trying to pay his rent with ingredients. The little boy in 403 loved to draw, and his drawings could come to life. The twin sisters in 405 were never seen together. The shut-in in 406 hated exercise and loved all kinds of high-calorie food. He was severely obese and smelled terrible, about as bad as rotten eggs. The artsy young man in 407 liked to recite his own poems on the balcony. They were so depressing that people who heard them often couldn't help jumping off the building... Not one of them was normal. Xie Juanchi's face grew even longer. Expressionless, he knocked on a door. "Open up. Rent's due." * When yin and yang fell into disorder and the boundary between the two worlds shattered, the age of the uncanny began, and all the ghosts went wild. It would have been like that, if not for that person. * "Mom, if there are ghosts, does that mean there are gods too?" "Hmm? Of course. Everything exists in opposition to something else." "Wow! So where are the gods?" "The gods have always been here. We just can't see them." "What's the god's name?" "A god's name mustn't be spoken. The name itself is a spell. But we can call him by his human name." "What is it? What is it?" "Juanchi. Tired of flying, it knows to return; it waits, watching the clouds rise. It means being like a weary bird returning to the woods, or reaching the end of the road and sitting down to watch the clouds rise." Xie Juanchi, who happened to be passing by: "..." How did he not know that was what his name meant? Though if he had to choose, "weary of worldly clamor, content to move slowly and find peace" suited him better. The world bustles and hurries by, and his heart has grown weary. He no longer wishes to chase the light. Whatever turns the world may take, he will simply remain at ease and in peace, quietly waiting to return to his true self. In plain language, he's lazy. Theme: Building a better world together.
