A timid heroine who drops to her knees or runs at the slightest fright X a super-powerful, scheming con-man hero
When the apocalypse came, Jiang Yu clutched her little Bebe and trembled every day. The groans of zombies, the threats of mutants, even the sound of raindrops against the window scared her half to death.
Being a coward made survival in the apocalypse especially hard. It felt as if the slightest sound from anything around her could scare Jiang Yu half to death. One day, when mutant rats showed up at her home, Jiang Yu couldn't take it anymore!
She decided to find a chance to die. She didn't want to turn into a zombie, or become a mutant and make friends with rats. She wanted to die with dignity and in a clean place.
Carrying her little bundle, Jiang Yu found a large tree that hadn't yet been stripped bare. She picked up an axe and some tools. If she was going to die, she would at least build herself a clean coffin to hold her Bebe and her body.
She had just finished building the coffin and hadn't even had a chance to lie down and try it out when a huge object fell from the sky and smashed it to pieces. On the verge of tears and furious with grief, she realized that this man who had dropped out of nowhere had ruined everything!
The man was badly injured and unconscious, so Jiang Yu kindly rescued him. She planned to carry on with her grand scheme once he woke up, but the man said he would take her somewhere safe: the far north of the map, where the Federation had established its base.
The man said he had a fine piece of golden nanmu there that he could give her to make up for her coffin. Jiang Yu was enchanted by the golden wood, so she slung her bundle over her back and set off with him on an epic escape through the apocalypse.
Wen Yue was seriously injured the day his powers awakened. The good news was that someone had rescued him. The bad news was that he had woken up inside that person's coffin.
Not long after he woke, Jiang Yu angrily demanded, "You're going to pay me back for my coffin!"
Wen Yue agreed to make it up to her with a coffin, and used the promise of golden nanmu to get her to travel with him. Survival in the apocalypse was harsh, and everyone wore a heavy expression. Jiang Yu's face, meanwhile, was simply blank.
She was so timid that even a little noise while gathering supplies made her tremble in fear. Once it got dark, she'd drop straight to her knees, and Wen Yue had to keep dragging her limp, terrified body along while fighting zombies.
Jiang Yu was also a clean freak. Even when fighting, she never forgot to keep herself clean. At the end of every battle, she was the most eager to clean up the site. In a world full of ruins and filth, she was the only clean haven.
Short skit
Wen Yue had just kicked a zombie flying when he turned around and saw Jiang Yu already kneeling on the ground with her hands clasped. He sighed in resignation. At least her knees seemed to be holding up after a whole day of this.
Before he could give it any more thought, another zombie came charging out behind him. Wen Yue hadn't had a chance to counterattack when Jiang Yu let out a loud shriek. Eyes shut, she swung blindly in every direction, and sent the zombie flying.
Her screams attracted even more zombies. Wen Yue had no choice but to grab her by the collar and drag her off at a run. Choked by her collar and terrified of the zombies, Jiang Yu was dizzy with panic. Her hand trembled as she raised it, and she croaked weakly, "H-help~~"
